About The Position

WM is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic III to join their team. This role involves the service and repair of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, which are vital to the company's operations. The position is based at a Landfill site in King George, VA, and emphasizes employee safety, work-life balance, and career development. Requirements

  • 6 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment
  • A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Audiogram and Respirator Fit Test annual

Responsibilities

  • Repair equipment including, but not limited to, bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
  • Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as set out by the site checklist.
  • Complete paperwork and admin tasks such as work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples.
  • Service and maintain other equipment such as light plants, water pumps, welders, and other equipment.
  • Reference site-specific procedures and more detailed site-specific job descriptions.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
