About The Position

Ledcor Highways is now hiring Heavy Equipment Technicians for our Highway Maintenance team in various locations in Alberta. In this position you will perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear used to keep the roads in your community safe.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (On-Road & Off Road) or a registered Apprentice
• Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Valid Driver’s License with the ability to provide a 3-year driver’s abstract
• Strong ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including those with sketches and diagrams
• Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• Experience with heavy civil construction, highway paving, or highway maintenance equipment (e.g., snowplows) is an asset
• CVIP mechanic license is an asset

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of plows/sanding trucks, loaders, light support gear and heavy construction equipment
• Perform CVIP inspections on trucks and trailers
• Attend service calls in the field as required
• Follows manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures
• Engages and participates in Ledcor safety policies and procedures
• Complete maintenance records and documentation as required
