About The Position

Republic Services is hiring an entry-level Technician Apprentice for a two-year paid training program. Technicians maintain the performance and quality of the company’s fleet by performing routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. The apprenticeship provides training in electrical diagnosis of starting and charging systems; air conditioning and heating components; wheel-end assemblies; air systems and brakes; hydraulics; and truck preventive maintenance. Training begins with nine weeks of company-paid, in-person instruction at the Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, followed by 22 months of on-the-job training, mentorship, and virtual instructor-led technical content. Apprentices gain hands-on experience while completing technician education and working toward apprentice certification as an entry-level Diesel Mechanic. Apprentices who demonstrate accelerated development and meet required milestones may advance to Level C Technician before completing the full 22-month on-the-job training period.
