Heavy Equipment Shop Service Technician
About The Position
Alta Equipment Company recently acquired AULT, a leading equipment supplier in North America, and is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Shop Service Technician. This role is crucial to the organization, and the company provides technicians with the necessary tools and resources for success, including training, competitive wages, a benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and telemedicine access), paid time off, and RRSP with employer contributions. The company fosters a casual dress code and operates on a Monday to Friday work schedule. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and energetic, with experience in servicing diesel, hydraulic, and/or farm equipment. Experience with crushing and screening equipment is preferred.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, with clean Driver’s Abstract
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing service repairs
- Welding experience (an asset)
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to use basic computer functions and the MS-Office Suite of products
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly
- The capability of working outside in all types of weather
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Experience with crushing and screening equipment is preferred, but consideration will be extended to candidates with previous experience servicing diesel, hydraulic, and/or farm equipment.

Responsibilities
- Inspect crushing and screening equipment upon initial delivery for defects
- Inspect and diagnose faults or malfunctions
- Adjust crushing and screening equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand or power tools
- Test repaired equipment for the proper performance
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on crushing and screening equipment
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
- Maintains condition of inventory, tools, and equipment
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Additional duties as required
