About The Position

Pape’ Rents is seeking a skilled and driven Rental Field Technician to join their team. This role involves traveling to customer locations to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on material handling and construction equipment. The technician will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime for essential equipment and providing peace of mind to customers. The work includes diagnosing and repairing a wide range of systems such as electric forklift systems, LPG and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, carburetors, electrical and air systems, final drives, and clutches. The role also requires accurate troubleshooting, clear communication with customers, and ensuring high-quality service. Collaboration with the Parts Department for parts identification and ordering is also a part of the responsibilities. The technician will operate a fully equipped service vehicle and build trusted relationships with customers.

Requirements

Knowledge of JLG and Genie and other AWP Equipment with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot.
Experience with electronic and hydraulic repairs.
Experience with diesel and gas engine repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Must provide own tools.
Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 75lbs.
Must be comfortable working at heights.

Nice To Haves

Aerial experience is preferred.
Experience working on John Deere equipment highly preferred.
CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on material handling and construction equipment at customer locations.
Diagnose and repair electric forklift systems, LPG and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, carburetors, electrical and air systems, final drives, and clutches.
Troubleshoot equipment issues accurately.
Communicate clearly with customers.
Ensure high-quality service is delivered on every visit.
Work with the Parts Department to identify, order, and return parts as needed.
Operate a fully equipped Pape’ service vehicle.
