About The Position

Knappett Industries is happy to offer an opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Operator for ongoing projects in Port Alberni, BC. We are seeking positive, experienced and energetic people to join our diverse and dynamic team. Requirements

• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• 3+ years’ heavy equipment operating experience in civil construction and municipal upgrade projects
• Professional demeanor when dealing with the public, crew, and client
• Able to work outside in all-weather at all times of the year
• Minimum three years’ experience in civil construction
• Ability to work as a team as well as independently when required
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to take and follow instruction
• Able to do extensive physical labour
• Valid provincial driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Recent working experience in similar role
• 5 years+ experience in civil construction and municipal upgrade projects
• First aid training

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the success of the safety program
• Operate required equipment safe and efficiently
• Grading, trenching, backfilling, ditching
• Keep machines clean and ensure any repairs or damage is immediately reported
• Perform daily pre and post inspections and follow daily maintenance practices
