Heavy Equipment Operator (Fort Hills)
About The Position
NACG is looking for Hydraulic Shovel Operators to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region. For this role, NACG offers a combined rate of up to $54.86/hour as well as room for growth. The work site is Fort Hills, with a schedule of 14x7 12 hr (paid for 12 hours) days/nights. Camp accommodations are provided, and transportation is available via flights to and from Edmonton or Calgary. Overtime is provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week. Successful candidates will become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' of experience operating 2500, 3600, and 5500 Front-Loading Hitachi Shovels.
- At least 2 years' experience in mining environment.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Valid CSO or BSO Certification (Energy Safety Canada)
- Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada)
- Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol Test, Urine Drug Test, Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment, Audiometric Testing, Vision Screening, Criminal Record Check
