About The Position

Fay, S&B USA Construction is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators for heavy civil infrastructure projects in the Portsmouth, Virginia area. The work includes operating equipment for activities such as excavation, trenching, pipe setting, and loading trucks. Operators are responsible for working safely, maintaining equipment, and completing assigned duties satisfactorily. The role involves working outdoors around moving mechanical parts, noise, and occasional fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. Periodic Saturday work is required as needed.

Requirements

At least three years of experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
Experience operating various equipment, including dozers and skid steers.
Experience with excavation, trenching, pipe setting, and loading trucks.
Ability to pass a drug test.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Reliable transportation.
Must provide personal safety footwear.
Ability to wear and work in required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots, and a safety vest.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

Responsibilities

Safely and skillfully operate equipment, including dozers, excavators, and skid steers.
Perform simple preventative maintenance and repair tasks to keep equipment in proper operating condition.
Perform tasks safely and without accidents.
Carry out each essential duty satisfactorily.
