About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with strong leadership abilities to join its Construction Services group in Knoxville, Tennessee. The position requires 100% travel to project sites, which may include out-of-town projects. The operator is responsible for safe and professional equipment operation, as well as equipment inspection and routine maintenance. Work may take place in a variety of weather conditions and may occasionally require long or atypical hours or weekend work.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience with heavy construction equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
Ability to learn quickly, analyze information, and solve problems.
Ability to follow supervision's instructions and work safely, including when unsupervised.
Ability to shovel and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to travel to project sites; the role requires 100% travel.
Willingness to occasionally work long or atypical hours or weekends.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience on environmental construction sites.
Previous experience traveling for work.
40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

Responsibilities

Maintain and inspect provided equipment.
Follow on-site supervision's instructions and carry out assigned tasks safely, including when working unsupervised.
Operate heavy equipment professionally and safely in a variety of weather conditions.
Complete a competency test covering equipment knowledge, inspection, maintenance, and operation.
Work to improve operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline processes, and provide quality, seamless service collaboratively.
Travel to project sites, including out-of-town locations; the role requires 100% travel.
Perform routine equipment maintenance, including inspections, greasing, and fueling.
Shovel and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally work long or atypical hours or weekends.
