About The Position
Avenal Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Avenal, CA! This role involves operating heavy machinery to manage waste and debris, moving and grading soil, conducting equipment inspections and maintenance, assisting customers and team members, and responsibly operating a company vehicle for parts running. The work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and involves physical labor. Requirements
- 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather elements, physical labor, and a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate Dozer, Excavator, and Loader to manage waste and debris
- Move and grade soil as needed to maintain site operations
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment
- Provide assistance to customers and team members as required
- Responsibly operate a company vehicle for parts running as needed, ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials.
