About The Position
Responsible for regularly operating a variety of heavy trucks, tractors, and construction equipment, and checking equipment for improper functioning during operations. Equipment operated primarily includes street sweepers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, asphalt paving machines and rollers, twin-axle trucks and equipment, backhoes, tractors, forklifts, skid steer loaders, and motor patrol. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Four years of related experience.
- Valid state Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Nice To Haves
- Full Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or National Institute for Automotive Service certification.
Responsibilities
- Level dirt in parking lots in preparation for the asphalt crew.
- Distribute earth to desired levels.
- Cut, swell, and ditch for drainage as needed.
- Use equipment to dig ditches for renovations.
- Dig and/or load dirt, sand, gravel, and other materials onto trucks or other equipment.
- Use equipment to excavate and grade for site improvements.
- Use equipment to remove trees and rocks from land.
- Operate a forklift to move materials, equipment, and furniture.
- Service equipment with gas, oil, and water as needed.
- Check equipment for improper functioning during operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
