About The Position

Responsible for operating a variety of heavy trucks, tractors and construction equipment on a regularly assigned basis; checks for improper functioning of the equipment during operations; primarily operates a street sweeper, bulldozer, front-end loaders, asphalt paving machine, asphalt paving rollers, twin axle trucks and equipment, backhoe, tractor, forklifts, skid steer loader, and motor patrol.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Four (4) years related experience.
• Valid state Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Nice To Haves

• A full Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or National Institute for Automotive Service certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Levels dirt in parking lots in preparation for asphalt crew.
• Distributes earth to desired levels.
• Cuts, swells and ditches for drainage as needed.
• Uses equipment to dig ditches for renovations.
• Digs and/or loads dirt, sand, gravel, etc. onto trucks or other equipment.
• Utilize equipment to excavate and grade for site improvements.
• Uses equipment to remove trees and rocks from land.
• Operates forklift to move materials, equipment and furniture.
• Services equipment with gas, oil and water as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
