About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Operator operates material-handling equipment safely at all times. The role involves moving material within the facility, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, preparing scrap metal for shipping, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and assisting customers at the facility.

Requirements

• Must be a certified Material Handler operator.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Highly self-motivated.
• Clear understanding of and adherence to safety regulations, without exception.
• Team player dedicated to the organization.
• Knowledge of scrap metals is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a material-handling crane to move material within the facility.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers using a crane or other material-handling equipment.
• Process and prepare scrap metal material for shipping according to instructions.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Direct customers within the facility and help them unload material.
• Perform other duties as required.
