Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy earthmoving equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, articulated haul trucks), or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe, productive equipment operation in varying site conditions (e.g., mud, slopes, confined areas).
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and physical/medical evaluation.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Strong commitment to safety with the ability to lead by example and enforce safe work practices.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend work based on project demands.
  • High School or equivalent education.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of safe, productive equipment operation in landfill/CCR environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with all company policies, site-specific procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections and complete daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness to ensure proper function, visibility, and professional standards.
  • Secure equipment at the end of each shift in accordance with company protocols.
  • Identify, document, and promptly report any mechanical issues, deficiencies, or required repairs to management.
  • Assist with routine preventative maintenance and basic service tasks as needed.
  • Follow all Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), site safety plans, and CBP Environmental safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain situational awareness on active job sites, including working around personnel, haul traffic, and changing ground conditions.
  • Safely operate equipment and perform duties in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and high humidity.
  • Perform job duties that require walking on slopes, uneven terrain, and active construction surfaces.
  • Safely climb ladders and access/egress equipment multiple times throughout the workday.
