About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for machinery that compresses and binds recyclable materials into bales for easy storage and transportation. This position requires the operator to monitor the machine’s performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and safety standards are met. The Equipment Operator is responsible for conducting basic preventative maintenance and inspections of the machine, ensuring it is in proper working order.

Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver’s License (if applicable).
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write basic English
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience operating industrial machinery
  • Experience in the Recycling industry preferred.

  • Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Operates industrial balers and Loader in the recycling plant.
  • Performs all assigned basic preventative maintenance on industrial balers and associated equipment.
  • Makes minor repairs and adjustments to industrial balers and associated equipment.
  • Operates computer controlled automated bunker system.
  • Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area including equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain timely, appropriate, and professional communications with plan operations, maintenance department, and baler supervisor.
  • Provide daily baler production reports to plan operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the flow of materials ensuring they are loaded correctly into the baler

  • Operates industrial balers and automated bunker system in the recycling plant, forklifts, machinery, and other equipment.
  • Performs all assigned basic preventative maintenance on industrial balers and associated equipment.
  • Makes minor repairs and adjustments to industrial balers and associated equipment.
  • Operates computer controlled automated bunker system.
  • Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.
