About The Position

Brandt Excavating is looking for a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator to support safe, efficient progress on our excavation and site development projects based in Martell, NE, 15 miles southwest of Lincoln. This position operates a variety of heavy equipment - including graders, tractors, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and skid steers to support site preparation, earthwork, general excavation and construction activities.

Requirements

Minimum of one year of experience operating heavy equipment in excavation, construction, or related fields.
Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
Working knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the job.
Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures, operational guidelines and site instructions.

Responsibilities

Operates graders for leveling and tractors for loading materials such as dirt, rock, and debris.
Operates backhoes and front‑end loaders as required for excavation, loading, and material handling.
Operates skid steer loaders to transport and place materials.
Performs general site preparation and related operational assignments using various heavy equipment.
Conducts routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
Ensure proper care, safe operation, and maintenance of equipment and supplies; actively promote continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
May assist in training or guiding other team members depending on operational needs.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
