About The Position

The City of Craig is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to support safe, reliable municipal operations through skilled operation of heavy equipment on public works projects. This role helps maintain community infrastructure by completing assigned field activities with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficient use of resources.

Requirements

• Valid CDL (or ability to obtain within required timeframe, as applicable)
• Demonstrated heavy equipment operating experience
• Working knowledge of safe work practices, traffic control, and basic equipment maintenance
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and lift/move materials as needed
• Dependable communication and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Operating and servicing equipment
• Performing routine inspections
• Transporting materials
• Assisting with snow and ice control
• Supporting roadway, drainage, and site work
• Setting up traffic control
• Completing required documentation
