About The Position

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join their team. This position is responsible for operating mobile equipment to move raw materials and load finished products, as well as maintaining roadways and loading areas. The company is a privately held family business that has grown to be a leading provider of pipe solutions across North America.

Requirements

Current Driver’s License
Must be able to perform basic math.
Must be able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection
Must be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per day

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred
2 - 4 years heavy equipment operating experience preferred
Bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

Operates various mobile equipment, including motor graders, track mobiles, and haul units
Performs daily pre-shift inspections on equipment
Performs preventative maintenance on service mobile equipment. Reports needed repairs to Yard Supervisor.
Follows safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
Provides relief in other plant operations such as rail unloading, maintenance, quality control, and scale house
Demonstrates a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level toward teammates.
Assist with equipment and plant repairs, maintenance and housekeeping as needed
Other duties as requested by management
