About The Position

The Rock Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating articulated haul trucks to transport waste, soil, and cover materials throughout the landfill site. This role supports daily landfill operations by ensuring efficient material movement, proper dumping procedures, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating articulated haul trucks or similar heavy equipment.
Valid driver’s license required.
Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety procedures.
Strong focus on safety and situational awareness.
Ability to operate equipment on uneven, muddy, or steep terrain.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliability and strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

Experience in landfill, construction, mining, or earthmoving environments preferred.
CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate articulated rock trucks to haul waste, dirt, and cover material across the landfill.
Follow designated haul routes and dumping procedures to maintain site efficiency.
Safely dump materials in assigned areas, including active landfill cells.
Assist with spreading and staging materials as directed by supervisors.
Perform daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections.
Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Maintain safe speeds and awareness of ground conditions, slopes, and other equipment.
Work closely with dozer operators, compactors, and other team members.
Follow all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
