About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for their Fort Bliss, Texas location. This role is responsible for operating equipment safely and effectively to support assigned missions, such as rail support movements. The operator will perform daily preventive maintenance checks and inspections, ensure equipment is in safe operating condition, and perform operator-level maintenance. The role requires close interaction with customers for material and equipment movement, adherence to safety regulations and company policies, and proper utilization, maintenance, and storage of equipment. Documentation, reporting, and limited office duties are also part of the responsibilities. All other position-related duties as assigned or requested will be performed.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of work experience operating heavy equipment is required.
Must be able to obtain a license following on-the-job training, operating several types of heavy equipment such as a 10K or 12K Forklift, 50 Ton Rough Terrain Container Handler, and a variety of Military Vehicles.
Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Available to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Operates equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.
Operates equipment including, but not limited to, Forklift (10k or higher), RTCH (Kalmar) 50k, and various types of military equipment.
Supports assigned missions by operating heavy equipment for tasks such as rail support movements.
Performs daily Preventive Maintenance Checks (PMCS) on equipment prior to operation and at the completion of mission task assignments or at the end of a work shift.
Supports additional Unit Movement Branch tasks as directed.
Performs daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
Inspects, cleans, and performs operator-level maintenance on equipment in accordance with established standards.
Closely interacts with customers for the movement of materials and equipment.
Follows all related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures.
Ensures equipment is properly utilized, maintained, and stored.
Completes necessary documentation, reporting, and limited office duties.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
