Heavy Equipment Operator
About The Position
Waste Connections has an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator at its solid waste landfill in Houston, Texas. The operator will use dozers, excavators, a compactor, trucks, and smaller equipment to support landfill operations. The position involves spreading and compacting waste, applying daily cover, excavating and hauling soil, and maintaining haul roads. The role requires safe equipment operation and working in a fast-paced team environment. The work involves strenuous physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing over 60 pounds. Employees work outdoors and may experience wet or humid weather, fumes, and vibration. Noise is usually moderate. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
