About The Position
This role is responsible for operating various types of Heavy Equipment Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to support A/DACG operations, including the transportation of HAZMAT loads. The operator will be responsible for loading and unloading pallets, supplies, and equipment from various conveyances. This position also involves enforcing safety practices, documenting procedures, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and workplace rules.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of container operations, including container lifting systems.
- Ability to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and workplace rules.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and operate all types of Heavy Equipment Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in support of A/DACG operations.
- Transport HAZMAT loads.
- Perform container operations, including the use of container lifting systems.
- Load and unload pallets, supplies, and equipment from docks, trucks, K-Loaders, and other conveyances.
- Enforce safety practices and document all procedures.
- Comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and workplace rules.
- Operate the forklift in support of the mission.
- Perform site surveys and risk assessments to determine safe lifting capacities and a secure environment for/unloading operations.
- Report any maintenance or operational discrepancies to the Shift Lead.
- Perform Daily Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and maintain equipment logs.
- Plan and execute the on/offloading of different types of military and commercial containers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
