About The Position

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, and loaders to assist in the construction of heavy civil projects in Abilene, TX, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating heavy civil construction equipment.
Proven ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment proficiently.
Strong understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and survey markers.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb, and work in a demanding outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

Operate various types of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, graders, scrapers, compactors, and loaders, in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment, reporting any mechanical issues or defects to the supervisor.
Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate daily logs of equipment operation, maintenance, and production.
Grade and excavate according to plans and specifications, ensuring accurate and precise work.
Assist with the loading and unloading of materials, as needed.
Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and other site personnel.
Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as greasing and cleaning.
Work in varying weather conditions and on challenging terrain.
