About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating the heavy equipment in our recycling yards. This position will be cross trained to help in other areas of the yard as needed. Regular and timely attendance is an expectation of the position. Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

Requirements

• Previous Heavy Equipment Operator experience preferred.
• High School Diploma preferred but not required.
• Team player attitude
• Eagerness to learn and grow with the company.
• Ability to adhere to company attendance policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear-view camera are clean and operational.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment, referring to more complicated mechanical issues to Maintenance Shop for repair.
• Operate material handling crane to move material within the yard.
• Load and unload trucks / trailers of material with crane or other material handling equipment.
• Process and prepare scrap metal material for shipping per instructions.
• Direct customers within the yard and help customers unload material.
