Heavy Equipment Operator – Parks
About The Position
Operate bulldozers, backhoes, dump trucks, trenchers, graders, and other heavy equipment for park maintenance and repairs. Perform grading, landscaping, drainage, and snow-removal tasks across City parks and facilities. Maintain safe play surfaces, repair roads and sewers, and complete athletic field renovations. Conduct basic equipment servicing and assist with training crew members. Contribute to keeping Fort Wayne's parks safe, beautiful, and ready for the community. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years' experience operating heavy equipment (dozers, graders, backhoes, etc.)
- Valid Indiana Driver's License
- Ability to obtain CDL Class A with air-brake endorsement within one year of hire
