Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Previous heavy equipment operating experience is required.
Experience leading, training, and directing employees in a team environment.
Basic computer skills are required.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Successful candidates will be mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and possess a strong work ethic.
Ability to work alternate shifts for training purposes, as well as weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.

Nice To Haves

Completed a Loader Operator Certificate.
Experience with composting operations is considered an asset.
Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and loader pre-operational inspections.

Responsibilities

Adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Operate the Front-End Loader, Screeners, and other composting equipment as assigned.
Delegate daily tasks and provide direction to site employees to ensure operational efficiency.
Responsible for the timely and efficient processing of materials daily.
Supervise, train, and mentor new employees.
Perform loader pre-operational inspections and report equipment deficiencies.
Work cooperatively with equipment operators, staff, customers, and management.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within daily operations.
Perform general shop maintenance and housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Assist with additional operational and maintenance tasks as assigned by management.
Work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
