About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator I to operate heavy equipment at its landfill in Monroe, Georgia. The role involves operating equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders while following established safety policies and operating procedures. Operators conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, keep accurate records, and move and position materials using material-moving equipment. The role also includes other duties as assigned.

The normal job setting is a shop or field, and the position is based at a landfill. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no weekends. WM describes stable hours, safety procedures, and training and development support. Starting pay depends on experience.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating a dozer.
• Experience operating a compactor.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
• Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
