About The Position

BEMAC is seeking a qualified working Heavy Equipment Operator Foreman/Foreperson to join their on-site Construction team for a 2-month project near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This role involves supervising and coordinating equipment operators, planning daily work, enforcing safety requirements, and ensuring compliance with permits. The position is based out of a remote camp with a 21 days on, 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. The project is with Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. While local candidates are preferred, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton or Calgary is available for eligible candidates.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of and experience operating equipment such as excavators, zoom booms, skid steers, and ride-on compactors.
• Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of heavy civil construction experience (oil sands/mining preferred)
• Proven experience leading crews in earthworks, site preparation, and infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience in earthworks, site preparation, and infrastructure work
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and ground disturbance requirements
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Fall Arrest, First Aid (Intermediate) & GD Level II and Zoom Boom certification is required

Nice To Haves

• Experience in live operating environments (e.g., oil sands brownfield sites) and/or large EPC Projects is an asset
• WHMIS, Incident Investigation and Wildlife Awareness would be considered an asset
