About The Position

As an Equipment Operator Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our field operations. You will lead, mentor, and work alongside a dedicated crew, overseeing the full scope of equipment operation. This position blends hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, tasking you with solving complex on-site challenges, ensuring project efficiency, and fostering a culture of safety and growth through on-the-job training. Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency; 3 to 5 years' experience in light to medium construction equipment operation, or related work OR Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire OR Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work
  • Knowledge of uses and properties of supplies and equipment
  • Skill in training crew members on the jobsite
  • Skill in providing direction to coworkers
  • Skill in operating assigned equipment
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work directions
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations
  • Ability to maintain records and work-related documentation

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coordinates the work of a group of employees; assigns and prioritizes tasks; guides employees to instruct or advise on tasks or assignments
  • Operates construction vehicles and equipment and serves as lead worker for maintenance and repair work assignments
  • Provides guidance and training to crew workers for jobsite equipment
  • Responds to and troubleshoots issues encountered during the course of work and maintains good communication with supervisor
  • Maintains activity logs, records, and work-related documentation
