About The Position

Alamos Gold Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (Dewatering) to join their team at the Island Gold District. This role reports to the Dewatering Supervisor and is responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of support equipment in a complex mining environment. The Island Gold District is one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada, located in northern Ontario. Requirements

Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract
Minimum 5 years’ experience as heavy equipment operator (excavator, loader, and forklift)
Slinging and rigging training
Ability to identify difference between normal wear, unusual wear and damage
Knowledge of WHMIS, including familiarity with chemical products’ use, disposal and safety data sheet applications
Completed secondary school or GED

Responsibilities

Inspection of equipment before and after use to ensure proper functionality
Loading, unloading, and moving materials to appropriate storage areas
Excavation of trenches for buried services
Following all safety procedures while operating equipment
Performing regular maintenance (refuelling, fluid checks, lubrication) and minor repairs when necessary
Reporting equipment issues, unusual conditions, and spillage immediately to Supervisor
Staging materials to be brought down for Underground Operations
Emptying garbage bins
Maintaining good housekeeping at storage areas
Snow removal during winter months
Other activities as assigned
