About The Position

This is a temporary position working for Highline Construction in Bellingham, WA, with jobsites primarily located in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. The role requires open availability from August through September, Mondays through Fridays. The position involves performing physically intensive work safely and efficiently, working as part of a team, and being outdoors in various weather conditions. The role is anticipated to last 6-10 weeks, with hours potentially varying and including overtime. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and rollers, using hand and power tools, and performing general labor duties as needed. A positive attitude, heat safety awareness, and willingness to adapt to different tasks are essential.

Requirements

• 18+ years old and legally authorized for work in the U.S.A.
• Previous heavy equipment operating experience required
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and safely pick up more than 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Safety-minded with a positive attitude and strong work-ethic
• Reliable vehicle (clean driving record preferred)
• Smart phone required
• Reliable attendance
• Availability from 6:30am-6:30pm Mondays through Fridays is required from August through September. Actual work hours will vary.

Nice To Haves

• CDL-Class A or CDL-Class B a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Working on a TEMPORARY basis, anticipated to last 6-10 weeks.
• Working hard, working safely, and maintaining a positive attitude.
• Working outdoors in the summer – (taking responsibility to practice heat safety strategies).
• Working on a small team operating heavy equipment of various sizes and types, including excavators, dozers, and rollers; utilizing hand and power tools.
• Willingness to work as an equipment operator AND as a laborer as needed to get the job done.
• Other duties as assigned.
