About The Position

This position plays a key role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently throughout the construction season. Duties include inspections, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment. Work is primarily shop based with occasional mobile field support as required.

Requirements

Alberta HET certification or minimum 3rd year apprentice or out of province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal
Own tools required
Strong diagnostic ability in electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean abstract
Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Physically capable of working in a demanding shop and field environments

Nice To Haves

Basic welding knowledge and skills (welding certification considered an asset)
Valid Class 1 License is an asset
CVIP certification considered an asset

Responsibilities

Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of truck, trailer combinations and various off road equipment including compaction equipment, dozers, excavators, graders, loaders and paving equipment
Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
Complete preventative maintenance, planned repairs and emergency breakdown repairs
Maintain accurate maintenance records and required documentation
Operate a service truck in the field when required, including occasional overnight travel
Perform work in a safe, timely and efficient manner
Work overtime and weekends during the construction season as required
