About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to disassemble and reassemble large machines such as excavators, dozers, and loaders. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding on/off-road vehicles and equipment, with a strong emphasis on hydraulic systems and undercarriage repair. You will be responsible for ordering parts, performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and preparing maintenance records. Some computer skills are necessary for ordering parts and preparing records. Welding and light fabrication experience are a plus. A Pennsylvania inspection license is not required. The position requires suitable tools, with specialty tools provided by the company.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least five (3) years of heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Able to read parts/service manuals.
• Able to understand schematics.
• Must have suitable tools.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Pre-employment criminal and employer background checks will be conducted.
• Current valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable transportation to get to work.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school or work at equipment dealers a plus but not mandatory.
• Welding and light fabrication experience a plus.
• CDL endorsement a plus.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and reassemble large machines (excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.).
• Repair machine undercarriages.
• Repair hydraulic systems and cylinders.
• Diagnose, repair, and rebuild on/off-road vehicles and equipment.
• Order parts from approved sources.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Prepare maintenance records.
• Work with other technicians to maintain a safe and friendly environment.
