About The Position

Plum Thicket Landfill is looking for a safety conscience Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Harper, Kansas. Extremely competitive wages. 1st shift work schedule. Requirements

Valid drivers license.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.
Minimum of 10 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (both diesel and yellow iron heavy equipment maintenance and repair, experience).
Must own personal tools.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate compactors, bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of engine and powertrain components, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Effectively and efficiently repair equipment.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
