About The Position

Tessera is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a can-do attitude. This role involves performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including wheel/track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, field service equipment, and material handling equipment. The mechanic will accomplish minor repairs, perform services as outlined in technical manuals, and conduct inspections and repairs on critical systems like brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, and steering. A key aspect of the role is the ability to understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, and wiring/hydraulic schematics for accurate diagnosis and repair. Major repair jobs, including disassembly, cleaning, component removal/installation, and assembly work, are also part of the responsibilities. Requirements

  • Must have 3 to 5 years light, medium, and heavy truck experience.
  • ASE T Series Certifications or must be in the process of testing for ASE T Series certification.
  • Must have experience working with diesel engines.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow technical manuals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot repair on breaks, suspensions, wheels, hubs, and steering systems.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to use computers and computer software
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
  • Must currently hold CDL-B or be able to obtain within 9 months of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain approval to operate a vehicle by Tessera’s insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
  • A Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required.
  • Candidates must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position.

  • Performs major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and installation of assemblies and installation of components.
