About The Position

Railserve is hiring experienced, safety-focused Heavy Equipment Mechanics in Indiana to support the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy construction equipment across active job sites. This is a full-time, hands-on role critical to keeping equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. Railserve is a leading provider of industrial railyard services across the United States and Canada. In this role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment used in railroad and industrial operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic required
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy construction equipment
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and systems
  • Ability to lift and safely handle heavy tools and equipment
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work safely in outdoor and industrial environments

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites to inspect, service, and repair heavy construction equipment
  • Inspect trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery to ensure safe operation
  • Diagnose equipment faults using computerized diagnostic tools
  • Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components and parts
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Conduct major repairs and equipment overhauls as needed
  • Collaborate with mechanics and operations teams to support field operations
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to leadership promptly
  • Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
