About The Position

Super Products is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic at its facility in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The Mechanic will perform service and repairs on truck-mounted vacuum equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Under the direction of the Service Manager, a Mechanic will perform service and repair procedures on truck-mounted vacuum equipment both in the shop and in the field. This position requires travel to make field service and repair calls occasionally and attend any required training. The position's primary focus is to diagnose and repair the work equipment, which requires electrical and hydraulic diagnosis experience. The work related to the chassis is limited to performing routine PM inspections and requirements for fuels, fluids, and lubrication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum three (3) years, verifiable experience as a mechanic
  • Experience with electrical and hydraulic diagnosis or truck mounted vacuum equipment -- required
  • Possess a solid understanding of the function, operation, and maintenance of truck-mounted vacuum equipment preferred
  • Must demonstrate a solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems and electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data, drawings, and schematics
  • Ability to administer DOT inspections
  • Possess basic / position-related computer skills
  • Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team, as well as work alone effectively
  • Be self-motivated, shows complete accountability, is timely in all assignments
  • Must own and supply a basic set of hand tools and storage box. The company will provide all large and specialized tools

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Effectively read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Perform all scheduled PM inspections of chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air and water systems
  • Conduct all repairs within DOT or OEM standards and service to return rental equipment "Ready to Rent" status
  • Performs and document "check in" and "check out" inspections of fleet equipment
  • Maintain and organize shop and storage areas, ensuring Super Products standard of excellence is met.
  • Effectively complete all documentation of work performed
