About The Position

Join Waste Connections as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Landfill in Buffalo Creek, TX. In this position you will be working on our Dozers, Excavators, Compactor, along with trucks and smaller equipment at our solid waste landfill. We work in an environment where empowered, self-directed All-stars know what they do is important. Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Must have experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment.
Must provide own personal tools.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable with operating and working on Heavy Equipment
Previous field experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Order parts and build a relationship with equipment vendors.
Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Perform inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns, which may occur on the working face of the landfill.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Perform maintenance related work as required.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
