About The Position

Kiewit is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a shop located in Mebane, NC. This role involves working in a construction/industrial environment and requires the ability to perform various physical tasks. The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, observing safety rules, and completing tasks in demanding conditions.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic or equivalent education
• Must have required tools
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Nice To Haves

• Experience with field troubleshooting equipment
• Experience working with the following equipment: Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, Takeuchi
• Experience working with the following diagnostic systems: CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, Diesel Laptop

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Move about a construction/industrial site.
• Work in a construction environment with changing outdoor weather conditions.
• Use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas.
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces.
• Complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
• Move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site.
