The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work at our Levy Brandenburg Mill Services location in Brandenburg, KY . The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs all functions pertaining to the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment. This position allows for career progression into a Lead Man or Maintenance Manager. Pay: $26.00 + per hour (based on experience) - $2.00 an hour shift differential for night shift Shift/Schedule: Night Shift 6:00pm-6:00am; 4 days on/ 3 days off Benefits Competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Prescription, 401(K) with 3% Employer Contribution, Long- and Short-term Disability Year round, non-weather dependent employment Tuition Reimbursement for qualified skilled trade programs Student Loan Repayment Program Employee Referral Program
Requirements
- Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of off-road heavy equipment
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
- Tier IV Emissions experience
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
- Ability to manipulate components in hard to reach places with hands or tools
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
- Dismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to the problem area
- Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access
- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
- Read schematics
- Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions
- Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components
- Meet customer service expectations
