About The Position

Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a second-shift position in the Phoenix metro area. The seasonal start time is approximately 2 p.m. in winter and 1 p.m. in summer. The mechanic will work on heavy equipment including scrapers, dozers, motor graders, and excavators. Rummel operates a large fleet and describes a safety-focused, collaborative work environment. The company typically works Monday through Friday, although some project schedules may require weekend work. Rummel Construction is a heavy civil general contractor specializing in mass excavation and grading, serving the Southwest since 1996. It is 100% employee-owned and works across markets including mining, landfills, golf courses, residential construction, CMAR/JOC, wind and energy, recreation, flood control, and transportation. Requirements

At least 2 years of experience repairing CAT, John Deere, or other manufactured heavy equipment.
Acceptable driving record and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
Basic mechanic experience using hand tools such as wrenches and sockets.
Ability to lift, load, and unload up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk, sit, squat, stand, or bend for extended periods.
Ability to enter and exit equipment using three points of contact.
Knowledge of completing inspection logs, electronic driver logs, and DOT compliance.
Experience with welding and grinding machines.

Responsibilities

Repair and diagnose heavy equipment, including scrapers, dozers, motor graders, and excavators.
Use basic mechanic hand tools to complete repairs.
Follow safety precautions while repairing and diagnosing machines.
Complete inspection logs, electronic driver logs, and DOT compliance documentation.
Work collaboratively with experienced employees to meet daily goals.
