About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The wage of this position is flexible. It will vary depend on the degree of applicants abilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various heavy equipment, including commercial trucks and trailers, cranes, and farm machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, and hydraulic components. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the optimal performance of our fleet.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience in heavy equipment or automotive repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engine repair, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC systems
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and electrical systems is essential
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as needed during repairs
- Experience with welding
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for effective customer service interactions
Nice To Haves
- Dealership experience is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including commercial trucks and trailers, cranes, and forklifts
- Conduct routine maintenance on industrial equipment
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as brake repair, alignment, and transmission work
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs
- Interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs
- Maintain accurate records of service performed on equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with clients regarding their equipment needs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all maintenance and repair activities
- Assist in the assembly of new equipment as required
