Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Dickerson & Bowen)
About The Position
Dickerson & Bowen (D&B) is a leading provider of aggregates, asphalt, and asphalt paving services in central and southern Mississippi. D&B operates four asphalt plants and two active sand and gravel plants. This role involves maintaining shop supplies, shop, and tools, as well as reading and applying information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will maintain and repair heavy equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery and systems. This position requires specialized knowledge attained through experience and education, and the individual will be responsible for their own productivity and quality of work.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
- 2+ years of related experience, proficiency with tools and techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
- Requires specialized knowledge attained through experience and education.
- Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Understanding of computer testing technologies.
- Ability to lift heavy machinery.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or professional certification
