Diagnoses, repairs, overhauls, and maintains heavy construction and tactical equipment including cranes, bulldozers, graders, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and similar power-driven equipment in accordance with technical manuals, shop work instructions, and Army maintenance standards. Operates, inspects, and tests equipment to identify malfunctions; dismantle and reassemble mechanical systems using appropriate tools, diagnostic equipment, hoists, and precision measurement instruments such as micrometers and gauges. Replaces or repairs defective components and assemblies including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and structural components; perform welding and fabrication repairs as required to restore operational capability. Conducts functional testing and operational checks on repaired or overhauled equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
