About The Position

Diagnoses, repairs, overhauls, and maintains heavy construction and tactical equipment including cranes, bulldozers, graders, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and similar power-driven equipment in accordance with technical manuals, shop work instructions, and Army maintenance standards. Operates, inspects, and tests equipment to identify malfunctions; dismantle and reassemble mechanical systems using appropriate tools, diagnostic equipment, hoists, and precision measurement instruments such as micrometers and gauges. Replaces or repairs defective components and assemblies including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and structural components; perform welding and fabrication repairs as required to restore operational capability. Conducts functional testing and operational checks on repaired or overhauled equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with safety and maintenance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses, repairs, overhauls, and maintains heavy construction and tactical equipment.
  • Operates, inspects, and tests equipment to identify malfunctions.
  • Dismantles and reassembles mechanical systems using appropriate tools, diagnostic equipment, hoists, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Replaces or repairs defective components and assemblies including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and structural components.
  • Performs welding and fabrication repairs as required.
  • Conducts functional testing and operational checks on repaired or overhauled equipment.
  • Serves as the on-site Location Supervisor, directing daily work activities of contractor mechanics and support personnel, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinates with Government supervisors, maintenance managers, and the Contractor Project Manager to support maintenance schedules, equipment readiness, training support missions, and logistics operations.
  • Operates and transports heavy equipment or vehicles requiring a Class-A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).
  • Maintains documentation and ensure compliance with Army regulations, safety requirements, environmental policies, and the contractor Quality Control and Safety Plans.
