AFO is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work in Fort Hood, TX. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic, JLTV (aka JLTV Wheeled Mechanic 91B) involves maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the operational readiness of wheeled vehicles, trailers, and material handling equipment systems. Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years maintenance experience in Mechanical Maintenance or a combination of Mechanical Maintenance and General Technical
• Ability to climb up the back of Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV)
• Ability to bring and use own tools
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening
• Ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 Investigation result.

Nice To Haves

• US Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.
• A minimum of a High School Diploma / GED

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of wheeled vehicles, including engines, transmissions, power train components, hydraulic systems, and fuel system components.
• Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
• Inspect, adjust, and test parts and systems to ensure functionality.
• Supervise and professionally develop subordinates.
• Handle maintenance-related administrative tasks, including record-keeping and reporting.
• Plan work area layout for efficiency and safety.
• Conduct on-the-job training.
