About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CAT Heavy Equipment Mechanic with strong hands-on experience in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Caterpillar mining equipment. This role involves working on a variety of heavy machinery, including haul trucks, dozers, graders, and loaders, and requires proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, completing repairs, and troubleshooting using specialized CAT software.

Requirements

• Extensive experience working on CAT heavy mining equipment
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience completing major repairs and component change-outs
• Competence using CAT ET and SIS
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screening
• Experience working on a strong combination of CAT equipment: Haul trucks and water carts (777, 785, 793), Dozers (D9, D10, D11), Graders (16, 18, 24), Loaders (980, 988, 992, 994)

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Completing breakdown repairs and planned maintenance
• Performing major component change-outs
• Troubleshooting using CAT ET and SIS
• Repairing engines, powertrains, hydraulic systems and electrical systems
• Accurately completing service reports and maintenance documentation
• Working independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards
