About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician is helping customers on site maintain a strong and reliable fleet. With safety at the forefront, we inspect, test, and diagnose each piece of equipment and repair on site to keep our customers’ jobs moving. Health and Safety will always be the number one priority at Stephenson’s so every employee has the shared responsibility of keeping themselves and all others safe by following the Safety Commitments, PPE requirements and all SOPs and Policies as laid out by Stephenson’s and governing laws. Every Stephenson’s employee has a duty to report any unsafe working conditions and ensuring that they and their co-workers at all levels of work are wearing their PPE and following our SOPs and policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of Heavy Equipment repair or related experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • G Class Provincial Driver’s License and clean Drivers Abstract.
  • Must possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Action-oriented with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
  • Bona fide job requirement that you wear the following PPE safely and as per regulations: Hard hat, Steel toed boots, High Vis vest or uniform, Safety glasses

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy equipment trades certification is an asset
  • Experience with Health and Safety training is an asset (i.e. WHMIS, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Completes all oil changes, fluid top-ups, and filter replacements on all of Stephenson’s construction and aerial equipment on customer construction sites as it relates to various diesel, hydraulic and electrical equipment, including Skid Steers, Mini Excavators, Aerial Reach Equipment and towable equipment.
  • Ensures that all equipment is rental-ready and meets set quality and safety standards and ensures all equipment is in working order on customer sites.
  • Follow the appropriate checklist and procedures. Can read and refer to owners’ manuals and schematics.
  • Operate and test equipment (under actual operating conditions, if possible).
  • Assist in making decisions related to equipment retirement.
  • Possess excellent product knowledge and can effectively transfer this knowledge to customers. This includes explaining features and benefits, safe operating techniques and promoting related accessories/products.
  • Ensure every customer is treated in a fair and consistent manner, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Follow all paperwork and computer procedure related to servicing of equipment.
  • Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the rental management computer system.
