About The Position

The Heavy Equipment & Fleet Technician troubleshoots and repairs equipment ranging from heavy construction equipment to light support equipment and work tools. The technician operates equipment to diagnose problems, inspects equipment for defects, and performs small welding and fabrication tasks on equipment in the shop. The role requires completing tasks with minimal direction and assisting supervisors and coworkers with mechanic and related tasks. The technician is expected to be highly aware of safety precautions, policies, and procedures and to help management maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

Mechanical and fabrication knowledge, generally obtained through a two-year post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.
One to three years of knowledge of maintenance procedures and tooling, obtained through prior mechanic and light-welding work experience.

Nice To Haves

A valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record, or willingness to obtain one.
Ability to obtain a Hazmat endorsement with tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair heavy construction equipment, light support equipment, and work tools.
