About The Position

We are looking for an experienced mechanic to maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other motorized machinery. The position requires strong diagnostic skills across multiple mechanical systems, attention to safety, and the ability to keep equipment operating reliably. This is a full-time, direct-hire position in Taneytown, Maryland. Starting pay is $24.00 per hour, with higher pay potentially available depending on experience, up to $35.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, or cranes.
• Experience in at least two additional technical areas, such as hydraulics, electronics, small engines, or air conditioning.
• High school diploma or GED, plus trade school, dealership, or factory service training equivalent to an associate degree.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize repairs, and collaborate with a team.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

• Professional certifications in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other motorized machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve problems involving hydraulics, electronics, small engines, air conditioning, and related mechanical systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and equipment repairs to reduce downtime.
• Complete work orders and accurately document mileage, operating hours, and repair details.
• Coordinate repair priorities and urgent maintenance needs with the Shop Foreman.
• Follow safety procedures and keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
• Travel as needed for equipment assignments, training, meetings, and other work-related activities.
