About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician responsible for repairs and maintenance on large construction equipment. The start and end times may vary depending on the workload and job needs. The home base for this opportunity will be in the Shippingport, PA area. However, there will be extensive travel involved for this position, and this individual will spend much of their time traveling to complete repairs on multiple jobsites. This position focuses on heavy equipment, including trucks, trailers, and small construction equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead crane.
• Operation of a variety of types of equipment
• Diagnosis and repair of diesel engines
• Maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment electrical systems
• Diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems
• Hydraulic troubleshooting
• Use of hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Ability to properly document work completed
• Willingness to work on a variety of equipment in both the shop and field environment

Nice To Haves

• Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience preferred
• Crane knowledge a plus
• Desire to take on new challenges

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
• Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes for the safe assembly and disassembly of components.
• Write and complete service reports.
• Participate in company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
