About The Position

Bejac Corporation, a large specialty equipment dealer with over 70 years of history and 14 locations across multiple states, is seeking an experienced heavy equipment diesel mechanic for field service at their Placentia, CA branch. The company prioritizes customer value and service, requiring competent employees to deliver the 'Bejac experience'. Due to growth and high demand, overtime is expected. The role involves servicing customer equipment both in the shop and at job sites, completing repairs within manufacturer flat rate times, performing routine maintenance, and executing minor repairs independently. The ideal candidate will be able to plan their work, manage route maintenance services without supervision, and work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience maintaining/servicing heavy equipment
  • Welding experience
  • Hydraulic & electrical experience
  • Mid-level diagnostic ability
  • Ability to understand instructions, written and verbal
  • Possess a clean and valid Class B driver’s license, recent K4 printout required
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to lift 75# unassisted

Nice To Haves

  • Equipment dealership background ideal
  • Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
  • Engine certifications a plus

Responsibilities

  • Service customer equipment in shop or at customer’s jobsite
  • Complete jobs at or under manufacturer’s published flat rate repair times
  • Plan work and complete route maintenance services without supervision
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Work under pressure independently and as a team player
  • Perform repairs such as welding, R & R of major components such as axles, engines, and transmissions
  • Perform repairs on components and attachments such as hammers and shears
